Celebrity musician, presenter and author Myleene Klass MBE visited pupils at Greensward Academy and Plumberow Primary Academy to deliver vital life-saving workshops.
Myleene visited the two schools in Hockley, Essex to share some insights from her best selling book ‘They don’t teach this at school’, filled with practical tips and skills that are useful for everyday and ‘what if’ situations. As part of her visit, she also ran a session on how to help someone who was choking.
Students at both schools helped Myleene with some research for a new project she is working on, that will be revealed later in the year.
“I really enjoyed meeting students and staff at Plumberow Primary Academy and Greensward Academy. I hope they found my session useful, I felt very privileged to be able to work with them and hear them talk so openly and honestly to me.” - Myleene Klass MBE
“We are delighted that Myleene asked us to be part of her new exciting project. Our staff and students have thoroughly enjoyed the time she spent with us and have given some very useful feedback. I am looking forward to the roll out of this work as it has the potential to have a huge and lasting impact on the lives of our young people.” - Katie Scarnell, Principal at Greensward.
“The children loved meeting Myleene and all children felt like they knew more about the risks of choking after the session." - Tom Bottrill, Principal at Plumberow Primary Academy.
