Lift Schools celebrates staff's exceptional dedication and impact with Modelling Mindsets national recognition night
September 3, 2024
Reading time:

Last year at Lift Schools, we received over 1,000 nominations from our staff across the country to recognise their peers for the Modelling Mindsets Awards. These awards allow everyone from across our network to celebrate their colleagues who have embodied our Project H mindsets and whose efforts transform the lives of our students in every classroom, every day.

As the culmination of this year’s awards, we were proud to host our first ever Modelling Mindsets national recognition night sponsored by Canva in Bristol on 3 July.

We welcomed 25 exceptional individuals whose efforts have significantly improved the lives of young people. It was brilliant to celebrate their dedication and impact across our network!

The messages we collected from our staff tell stories of dedication, innovation, and the profound impact our staff have on students and communities across the country.

Racsana Selvaratnam, Science Teacher and Head of Year at Kingsley Academy, said:

"It is an honour to receive these awards along with fellow colleagues who also come from minority backgrounds and are doing exceptional work in their roles."

Ben Moore, Technology Support Officer at Lift Schools, said:

"The evening was incredible, spent with colleagues from our region and beyond, and it truly felt special. Hearing about the incredible work happening in schools across the country was heartwarming and led to some really inspiring conversations."

Chloe Brown, Curriculum Leader of Computer Science, at Tendring Technology College, said:

"It was a beautiful evening. I feel so lucky to have met with other colleagues across the country who had also been nominated and to have heard about the amazing things they are doing!"

While we were only able to recognise a few of the 1000+ nominations, we know that each person who received a nomination from their colleague, and even those who may not have, has made crucial contributions to our schools.

Thank you for your engagement with these awards throughout the year in what we hope you will agree has been a truly special celebration of our frontline teachers and support staff.
